“We specialise in supporting people with learning disabilities, complex needs and challenging behavior”
We are a 2 storey building that has an adorning annex with 5 en-suite bedrooms for clients that we support to get back into the community to live an independent life.
Marston Court has two large lounge and dining areas which enables people to socialise at meal times. Recent renovation work on the home now enables people living in the annex to access Marston directly to the upper floor and a lift gives them access to the ground floor of Marston. The two gardens are of good size and people participate in the warmer months to plant seeds and flowers. Both gardens have canopy swings for people to relax and enjoy the views. Marston Court is close by to various local shops and there is a bus stop directly outside the home that will take people and staff supporting them to Leicester’s city centre. Watermead Park is nearby where individuals can access and feed the ducks and take a stroll round the park.
All clients can participate in in-door and outdoor activities daily. A range of activities is set out by our full time day coordinator who delivers person centred plans for the needs of the people in our care. Marston Court provides boccia sessions on a Friday for all to participate in and people can go to a disco every Wednesday evening where they socialize with other individuals and enjoy the evening dancing and meeting new friends. Horse riding takes place every week with people who like the outdoors. The safety of this is assessed by the person’s GP and the horse riding school prior to starting. This is a big success, especially in the last year with the people that have attended. People also have the opportunity to visit loved ones at home, when families find it hard to visit the home themselves. Marston Court also provides holidays and day trips to the seaside every year in the warmer months, and people are accompanied by trained staff members.
